Garth wanted solar to be his main source of energy. He wanted to reduce his dependence on grid power, and decrease his power bill. He also liked the idea of keeping his pool heated during the winter.
The combo of one 5kW grid-tied inverter and one Smile5 hybrid Inverter with battery bank is proving to be a popular choice for customers with lots of roof space, who want to maximize their solar generation and store surplus for night time use.
Grant’s system consumes minimal power from the grid during the day, and also ensures his batteries are charged to give them piece of mind in case of a grid blackout.
On a really good day where generation is extremely high, he can also make some extra money by exporting solar power to the grid.
